FAQs
How long does training take?
Most students are road-test ready after 4 to 7 half-day training sessions.
The longest part of the process is usually finding an open road test appointment with the DMV — which is why we recommend calling us early if you're in a hurry. We’ll help you start studying for your permit and guide you through the process.
When do classes start?
We offer rolling start dates throughout each month.
Your training officially begins once you’ve passed your written permit test, but we can support you from day one with study materials, scheduling help, and planning your best path to a CDL..
Do I need a CDL permit before I start training?
Yes — you’ll need a valid Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) before any behind-the-wheel training can begin.
We’ll provide study resources and walk you through the process to help you pass the written permit test with confidence.
What kind of CDL can I get through your program?
We offer training for:
-
Class A CDL with no restrictions, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission tractor-trailers with air brakes
-
Class B CDL, including both manual and automatic transmissions with air brakes
-
Passenger endorsements, for those planning to drive buses or shuttles
How old do I need to be to start training?
We can begin working with students as young as 17 ½ years old.
You can start preparing for your permit test at that age, but you’ll need to be 18 to officially obtain your permit and begin behind-the-wheel training.
Do you provide the vehicle for the road test?
Yes!
All of our CDL training packages include:
-
Use of our truck and trailer for your DMV road test
-
A staff member who will accompany you to the test site and support you throughout the process
Are grants available?
Yes.
There are grant programs available for:
-
Businesses looking to train current employees
-
Individuals who meet income, employment, or workforce criteria
Call us and we’ll help you explore which options may be available in your area.
Can I train on weekends or evenings?
We offer flexible scheduling, including occasional weekend or evening sessions depending on instructor availability. Let us know your needs and we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule.
Do you offer job placement assistance?
Yes.
We regularly partner with local employers who are looking to hire new CDL drivers. While we can’t guarantee job placement, we’ll do our best to connect you with job leads and resources after training.
